Your  INVENTORY

balances the scales for a

FAIR SETTLEMENT

LOCAL - LICENSED - INSURED - BONDED

Serving Oregon's  Willamette Valley

Portland to Eugene

Do you know exactly what you own?

Can you prove it?

You already know you should have an inventory
. Nearly everyone knows that.

But, just in case you need a reminder:

LATEST NEWS FLASH from the World Of Reality

500,000
< on the way to 1,000,000 >
flee deadly California fires

".... More than 500,000 people were forced to flee their homes in southern California as wildfires continue to ravage the region yesterday...."

As of Tuesday, October 30, 2007, over 2,200 homeowners tragically lost everything.

How many homeowners do you think had an inventory? [Answer below.]

COMES NOW THE REAL WORLD OF EXISTING LAW

There are two categories in the legal universe where one comes to understand the need for an inventory.

  1. INSURANCE CLAIMS to state the obvious. (Read the above news flash one more time.)

  2. The not so obvious: ESTATE DISTRIBUTION, PLANNING, PROBATE, etc.

95% & 2%
What's interesting about these numbers?

In 2003, 95% of homeowners bought insurance. They paid a nationwide average annual premium of

$668.

Why would folks do that?

After all, only 7.11% of all policyholders filed claims (for about $27 Billion) in 2003.

The remaining 92.89% paid $668 for what? "Sunk costs" as economists say. Money gone forever. Cost of living.

What did this no-claims group get for their money?

Peace of mind. They chose that over the premium dollars. They could never know when or if they would suffer a dreadful loss. They did not want to be self-insured.

BIG QUESTION

"Do you have an inventory?" One that will prove you own what you say you own.

If you're like the vast majority, the answer is a sheepish "NO".

95% of homeowners have insurance.

Probably less than 2.0% of policyholders have an adequate inventory.

Why not?

NO INVENTORY?

How many of the usual
reasons <excuses>
 apply to YOU?

Inventories began by counting two rocks.

  1. It's not because you don't think you should have an inventoryNot at all.

    It's hard-core dedicated PRO - CRAS - TI - NA - TION. (You know it's true.)

Why this procrastination? It's because you have no sense of urgency. The kind of serious urgency you would have if you knew tomorrow morning some kind of disaster would strike and obliterate everything you own.

Think there aren't a lot of Katrina survivors wishing they had an inventory of their possessions before that disaster decimated their lives?

(To say nothing of the Great California Fires of October 2007.)

    You know the answer.

Even worse, too many people died because they let psychological denial and a belief system override their common sense.

They didn't believe Katrina would be as fierce as forecasters said. They would "somehow" survive. Only a "silver bullet" from the Lone Ranger could do them in.

You know the stories. Let your mind remember.

  2. And/or you labor under the misconception that your insurance company will automatically pay you the full amount of the stated policy benefit. (Yes, there are a surprising number of folks who believe this.)

If you own a $400,000 home and the "contents" limit is 75%, you believe you will be getting a check for "contents" of  $300,000 if <whatever> disaster utterly destroys your home.

You believe your total check will be $700,000.

Forsooth, a very rude awakening this way cometh.

  3. And/or you have no idea of the nightmare it can become if you can't prove what you've lost.

Far too often, it can take months (even years) to settle an insurance claim if you can't prove what it is that the insurance company must legally replace.

To say nothing of the difference between a settlement offer and what you may get when you say .....

"I CAN prove I own what I say I own!".
    (The difference can be HUGE.)

  4. And/or, it may be a matter of TRUST.

    Trusting someone
to do your inventory. This understandable worry and concern will probably be your biggest objection to having someone else do your inventory.

    We know and understand that.

It is precisely why we have a process that gives you time to get to know us.

If there is no mutual trust; no business will ever be conducted. You trust us to do what we say we will do and we trust you to pay us for the service.

You must come to know that we take every reasonable precaution to keep your valuable possessions safe, secure, and confidential throughout our inventory process.

NOW WHAT?

WHICH GROUP APPLIES TO YOU?

1. You're a serious Do-it-yourselfer.  We're delighted to help.

Here's an impressive FREE KIT to help you do it efficiently.

2.  You have no inventory and won't get one.

(Even if offered to you FREE.)

We're truly sorry #2. We can't help you.

However, certain people at your insurance company will be dancing like nobody is watching.

They know you've just let loose the Hounds of Bite-Me-Ville.

Guess who gets bit.

3. You're willing and able to have others do your inventory  provided  it's accomplished in a professional, confidential, and detailed way.

And, of course, reasonably priced.

OK, the hard-bitten people in Group #2 have vacated the premises.

The Do-it-yourself folks are busy using our Free Kit.

Now, let's get busy helping YOU.

The 3-STEP PROCESS for our getting your inventory DONE.

  1. We receive your request for a FREE ESTIMATE.

  2. An appointment is set and our estimator visits to complete the task which usually takes 20-30 minutes. Then, with your permission, an appointment is set for the Inventory Team to do the inventory.

  3. One of our professional two-person inventory teams will do the following:

    • Make digital video, audio, still photos, document scans, and written descriptions of your home and contents, inside and out. We have first-class cameras, gear, computers, and software to do the task efficiently.

    • Written descriptions, video, pictures, document scans, and audio are processed then transferred to a CD's or USB Flash Drive. Our professional home inventory software allows you to read these files with Acrobat Reader or your browser. (.pdf and HTML files)

This makes it easy for you to e-mail or deliver your information to your insurance agent, attorney, CPA, etc.

    • As part of our service you receive (FREE) the same professional software we use to do your inventory. You have your choice of two:

      1) The Home Journal or

      2) Computerize Your Assets.

Both allow you to revise and update your inventory at your convenience.

There's no need to have us return and add records to your inventory at a later time unless you prefer us to do so. It's more economical for you to update your own files when there are just a few items.

    • Out of serious respect for your privacy we do not retain your inventory files on our computer or store your CD's. We are not in the warehouse or private depository business.

IMPORTANT: Only your safety deposit box, family, insurance agent, attorney, financial advisor, etc. should be the depository of your information. Not us.

    • "How long does it take?" We complete the inventory data gathering part of our service on our first visit

For a typical 1,500 square foot home, we complete all videos, pictures, document scans, audio descriptions, and information gathering in about 2 to 3 hours.

Then, we return to our office to complete all of the computer input and detail work. After we've finished, we deliver the completed inventory CD's or USB Flash Drive to you at your earliest convenience.

If preferred, we can stay and do everything in one visit. Your call.

Here's what our Home Inventory Service will do for you!

When our professional team completes your inventory it ....

  • Lets the insurance company know you're more than serious if you have a claim. Their lawyers will quickly recognize you are someone ready to demand a FAIR settlement. Fight them in the first ditch, not the last.

  • Lets you prove "casualty losses" not covered by your insurance. Your losses will be documented for your IRS "casualty" deduction.

    (The IRS will want PROOF.)

  • Provides outstanding support for your attorney and financial advisors to create Wills, Trusts, Asset Protection, and Asset Distribution strategies. Having a professional and detailed inventory helps them immensely. To say nothing of reducing the cost of their services.

You can be at ease knowing the sentimental things in your life will go to those you love and cherish.

Not to someone chosen by outsiders, courts, or bureaucrats.

  • Relieves your stress and eliminates the hassle of doing it yourself.

  • Makes the hateful and dreary task go away.

  • Releases your time so you can have more FUN doing other things.

Can you think of one rational reason ...

    NOT to have an inventory?
Guess who benefits when you continue to procrastinate.

"Why would you ever let your insurance company KEEP

any money that may be rightfully YOURS?"

Now, it's up to you

  1. You can do NOTHING. (Just keep on denying and pro-cras-ti-na-ting.)

  2. You can get our FREE KIT and do it yourself.

  3. You can have 1 Home Inventory Service do it for you.

Regardless
of your choice, ALL insurance companies will want clear PROOF that you own what you say you own.

Your odds for a FAIR SETTLEMENT increases dramatically when you have evidence.

Again, most people have no idea of the certified nightmare that awaits when they can't prove they own the assets they've lost. Far too often, it can take months (even years) to settle a claim when one can't prove what one owned and lost.

Insurance company lawyers practice Cheshire cat grins when confronted with guesses, vague memory, and wishful thinking on your part. It's time to wrinkle their brow and put them on the defensive.

"CAN YOU PROVE IT?"

With your inventory you can confidently say ...

"YES, I CAN!"

Again, with inventory evidence you dramatically increase your odds for a fair settlement.

Potentially, a HUGE INCREASE over what you otherwise might receive.

The difference may astound you.

A difference that comes with the high probability it will be an amount far in excess of what it cost you in time and effort when you do-it-yourself.

Or, even the cost of having 1 Home Inventory do your inventory.

"Fight 'em in the FIRST ditch, not the last."
